Charles Godfrey Leland was an American journalist, traveler and writer. First of all he was considered as a writer of humor and folklorist genre. Traveling around the world he collected numerous stories and legends which became a primary part of his literary works. An ancient Indian legend will retell the reader about great bird named Wochowsen that lives far to the North at the end of the sky and moves his wings so fast that wind blows they of old times called him that. The main character Glooskap is a hunter that was neither man nor a spirit who was trying to catch that legend bird, the terrible god of the storm.
