The Brothers Grimm Jacob and Wilhelm were German academics, linguists and authors specializing in collecting and publishing folklore. The first volume of Grimm’s Fairy Tales was published in 1812 and was criticized for not being suitable for children and in later editions certain amendments were made. A king and a queen had no children for long, and finally the God sent them not a baby, but a donkey. The king decided to bring him up as a price and his heir.
