Our Hero is shocked when the Traveler, a strange yet familiar man, steps out of his bathroom mirror one night. Years before, the Traveler followed strange lights into another mirror and he has been lost ever since. As it turns out, mirrors from every time are connected by a Gallery, a spider’s web of hallways with walls of mirrors and a carpet of broken glass. The Traveler needs Hero’s help in finding his way back home – in return, the Traveler would give Hero an adventure. And so they step through the mirror, together.

But as much as Hero loves history, the feeling isn’t mutual. When Hero isn’t getting punched in the face by Ernest Hemingway or falling in love with a Civil War widow waiting for her dead husband to return, he realizes that everything everyone ever loves is magnetized. Magnetized, in the sense that people are attracted and repelled by the little things they love. And so, as their adventures draw them closer home, Hero wonders when home would stop pulling them closer and start pushing them away.
