The story is about Claire, a desperate woman looking for a ladies loo on the M25!

It is set in a waterproof garment factory in the Cotswolds and follows the employee’s fight to keep the business going. It is about big business versus little business in a fading Thatcherite economy.  In the midst of all this Claire is encouraged by her quickly maturing son, to go and find light relief on a holiday in Madeira. She falls for a holiday rep who is probably gay.

Back home the fight goes on and a personal tragedy makes Claire realise that she is not as waterproof as she’d like to be.

Life is moving, changing, and she must move on too. She discovers Wordsworth and a barn in the Lake District.  With the Cotswold Mafia, known locally as the W.I. and a spot of blackmail, can she save the factory from closing. Claire also finds out that you are never too old to have fun in a shower...
