Sisterly love is strong, but even stronger if you are a twin, right? Hallie and Heather may be twins but are as alike as chalk and cheese. Yet at heart, they are both loving, adventurous and committed to each other. Their mother dying while they are young from muscular dystrophy, they are sent to live with an aunt who’d rather be alone with her cat than looking after two spirited girls. And in the end, she has her way, and they have to move to Sydney, Australia, leaving their life in New Zealand for the land of sunburnt country and sweeping plains.

Living with their estranged father isn’t all that they hoped but they make the most of it, growing into two young women, studying at university in Canberra and trying not to make the bills bounce. But there is something that isn’t quite right, and Heather senses it, knows it, yet hopes that what she suspects is wrong. As their adventures continue, Heather begins to realise that she may have to finish the adventure on her own.
