Thousands of migrants from across Africa and some countries in the Middle East have perished in the Mediterranean Sea in the last one decade than in the whole of human history. Many more will perish still in a desperate bid for Europe. Several reasons have been offered for this on-going human tragedy, including poverty, war and persecution.

However, this tragi-comic play offers a valid, compelling reason for the unfolding migrant deaths on the Libyan Coast and the Aegean Seas – a reason which, hard as you might look, you will not find in any official narratives on both sides - departure countries of the migrants and the recipient nations taking them in on compassionate grounds - even though the fictional events played out in the play are based on shocking true-life experiences.
