Hey, brother or sister Christian! What if you could sit at the feet of Jesus, ask Him any question you wanted, and listen delightedly as He answered? Or, what if you could come to our heavenly Father, ask Him for wisdom, and actually listen in awe to His detailed response? I wouldn't be surprised if many of you have imagined doing exactly that. What a joy it would be to have a real, live, face-to-face chat with the lover of our souls!
Well, I have imagined it, too. But I've gone a step farther. I started writing down our intimate little "chats." The answers that came to mind were rather profound, even startling, and at times awesome and inspiring. Could it be that I was actually hearing those answers from the Holy Spirit?
I'll leave that for you to decide. But after spending thousands of hours of asking, listening, recording my thoughts, and checking out the Holy Scriptures to "see if these things be so," I decided that this was just too good to keep to myself. So here it is, The Gospel of the Kingdom. May you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. And may the Holy Spirit confirm to your heart whatever actually is from God, and help you to forgive and forget wherever I may have "gone off the deep end" in my enthusiasm. My prayer is that you, too, will enjoy learning to know and heed the voice of the Good Shepherd (John 10), even through my book.
