An immigrant boy quickly learns that his new home on Mars is a long way from Kolkata. Kumar Sharma is not a happy camper when he discovers that he has lost his Scout ranking and is a Tenderfoot again.

Experience life on Mars as it might be in the Mid-21st Century through the eyes of a young man new to the place. At the time of the story, Kumar, his scientist father, and his older sister are newcomers to Musgrave Station, a small settlement on Mars. Despite his disappointment upon learning of his loss of Scout ranking, Kumar joins the settlement’s small Boy Scout and Girl Guide Troops on a field trip to a cavern where a new station is being constructed. During this outing, Kumar learns how different Mars society is than that from which he came and his Scouting skills are tested when one of their number is injured in an accident.

The story is scientifically accurate with likeable characters. If you like adventure, danger, and suspense, set in a plausible and bright future, this award winning story is for you.
