Sublime murder takes the reader on a science based trip into the near future. Energy issues are being solved and the climate addressed, while carbon dioxide remains the elephant in the room. As people go about their everyday lives, Ferg and Saffy are doing what they can to save the planet and in the process save individual lives.

Forensic geoscience and chemistry are their tools of trade as they combine to solve a murder or two and unravel some complex system analysis. It is an optimistic view of the future with a serious take on the science. From airships built from carbon nanotube infused spider silk, to travel to Mars, it promises an entertaining read.

The journey involves plenty of information on geological processes, coral reef growth and carbonate buildups, all the while linking back to carbon dioxide. It is a science read that is not too hard to follow.

You could say that it is truly a case of energetics.
