Sent to investigate an international security alert, Inspector Zain, the protagonist investigator, unearths plans and conspiracies that intertwine to spell ethnic and religious discord in multiracial Malaysia, and create the environment for radicalized groups to assert their presence.

In the dense greenery of the ancient Belum rainforest, Inspector Zain unravels clandestine efforts to bring in Muslim Rohingya refugees illegally into the country, a terror cell training camp, and a gun manufacturing facility manned by mercenaries, while elsewhere he stumbles upon an illicit drug manufacturing hideout and several illegal human trafficking networks engaged in forced labour and sexual slavery. However, it turns out that they are all threads interwoven in a complex plot to destabilize and change the political course of the country, involving not only foreign instigators, but also disloyal local officials. The setting of the novel and the strong, topical overtones of the narrative make for a compelling read.
