Aya’s angry mother, Mary, finds her daughter’s tape recorded diary and begins a slow process of self-examination. Finding parallels between her daughter’s experience of her and her own experience of her parents, Mary begins to consider Aya’s prescription for greater happiness: looking at the positive side of things. Mary hadn’t realized there was more than one way of looking at something, and initially she struggles with the notion. Meanwhile, the friends try to figure out a way to help Aya. Perhaps a Monkey Day play that would help parents and children better under-stand each other. Sokron’s Babushka works behind the scenes on a flyer that will be sure to get parents who need help to turn out for the Monkey Day Festival.
