What happens when we discover our world is not as it seems?
Finn rolled out the map across the table. Blood from the gash above his eye dripped onto the Hebrides. That’s it, he thought, I’ve got to get as far away as possible. He finds refuge in a tiny croft on the stormy isle of Erraid, but fear arises when an apparition appears at his door. A flash of lightning reveals a silhouette, naked, with dripping dreadlocks to the knees. Its eyes glow like those of a cat and it shows no reaction to the cold.

Sixteen year old Finn is relieved when his mother reveals the sinister brute he thought was his father is not his father, yet she keeps the identity of his true sire cloaked in mystery. Reality takes on a paranormal twist when he begins to suspect his real father is not human and uncovers the bizarre revelation he was prince of an ancient tribe beneath the ocean.

As Finn struggles to balance the blood of two contrasting cultures which have very different mindsets, he begins to understand the origins of his craving for the sea, and why he feels music to be a compulsive calling. He stands on the brink of making the painful decision between joining his ancestors beneath the waves, or seeking a perilous justice for his dead father on land. His refusal to acknowledge a hidden snare in his heart could block success, no matter his choice. When he realises his salt-water relatives mistake him for a prophesied hero, he fears they have the wrong guy.
