Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) is a famous Danish writer, well-known for his fairy tales like "The Ugly Duckling", "The Snow Queen", "The Little Mermaid", "The Emperor's New Clothes" etc. However his tales appropriate not only for children, but also for adults. "Nightingale" is a story written by Andersen in 1843. It was included in the collection "New Fairy Tales". This story is about a nightingale, which was singing in the Chinese emperor's garden. Everybody was fascinated by it's singing, so the emperor order to bring the bird in the castle. Nightingale began to live in the castle and pleased the court nobility with it's wonderful songs. But one day someone brought the artificial mechanic nightingale and the real one was forgotten. To know the rest of the story, read it till the end.
