What a beautiful Earth we had before our excesses upset the balance that nature intended! WE HAD IT ALL, but couldn't control our urge to manipulate the environment and each other. Cataclysm, followed by panic saw the chosen few cocoon themselves in their underground fortresses till the living world outside its confines had almost ceased to exist.
During this time of enforced solace and contemplation the survivors planned for the time when the Earth would be cleansed of the harm done to it. The remnants of mankind chose to wipe the slate clean and start afresh by altering their genetic makeup so that a more worthy being was created; one whose basic morality hinged on 'COMMUNITY BEFORE THE INDIVIDUAL'.
The new world outside would provide a challenge to reclaim and nurture as never before. A future amongst the stars however seemed the next logical consequence of their search for redemption; and so began another chapter in the story that is man.
