Before the days of the nationwide “Amber Alert System” and computers linking law-enforcement agencies, tracking kidnapped victims was a tedious process. There was not a lot of help for Lee’s parents, and all attempts to find him were in vain. But, there was prayer. Lee’s mother spent a lot of hours on her knees, asking God to protect her only son and bring him back safe. Almost 2000 miles from home, Lee knew he was in danger, but he also knew God was with him, and he knew his mama was praying for his safe return.

Lee Sturgeon has always enjoyed writing about life’s journey. Creative Writing classes in junior high and high school were spent documenting the daily happenings in his life. All assignments were rewarded with good grades and encouraging notes from his teachers suggesting writing as a career or sideline. After school was completed, Lee instead turned his attention to supporting his family, working as a gospel musician and vocalist, as well as teaching the teen Sunday school class in his home church in Denton, Texas. He still chronicles noteworthy events.
