Bhavesh is a British guy of Indian origin from Leicester. He always thought he would end up marrying a long term girlfriend he would find in the usual, dating way.

However, this hasn’t happened and as he approaches 30 years of age, he decides he’s ready to give the arranged marriage route a try.

His mum helps to introduce him to a number of girls. A number of these young women are originally from Leicester and have moved to London.

Bhavesh goes on a number of dates with these women, which end up as failures.

The more such girls Bhavesh meets, he notices a trend. None want to move back to Leicester after marriage.

Bhavesh begins to experience doubt and worry and wonders whether this is even about getting married anymore, or something else.

This short story is 5171 words in length.
