Massive ships that resemble misshapen rocks and made of an unknown metal, appear suddenly in the streets. These strange visitors emerge from the depths of their crafts, clad in suits of armour made from the same mysterious materials.  They train weapons the size of their arms on the humans and open fire without provocation, destroying everything in their path.  There is nothing left for the survivors to do but run in the hopes that they can avoid being captured and dragged ruthlessly into the bowels of the waiting ships.

All at once the Earth was still…

And then it was gone.

Turned to dust as if it were nothing while the unfortunate survivors watch the destruction of their home in horror without any explanation of why the attack happened, or what their captors want from them.

Ten years later, a young woman is cast from her desert home for daring to dream of a life greater than the traditions of her people.  Exiled by the family she loves, she’s forced out into the harsh galaxy to fend for herself with nothing more than her wits and mechanical skills to scrape out a meagre living.  She wants only solitude, but that isn’t what life will give her.  She returns to her ship after a hard day’s work to find trouble at her door in the form of a lone human survivor so damaged she cannot even remember her name.

These two unlikely companions find themselves once again faced with the horror that destroyed the human world, but what can they possibly do against such a force?
