In celebration of National Poetry Month, Written Image® has released the eBook version of Beneath the Greasepaint: Poems about creating & creators by Herb Kauderer. This book of poetry is also about poetry, as well as about the people who create poems and other artistic expressions. These poems are fictional, autobiographical, formal and informal, light and dark. The author’s meeting with Margaret Atwood is chronicled, New Year’s resolutions are celebrated, and dreams and nightmares are shared. This collection is ultimately about “the incantations you use to conjure” the magic of creating.

Herb Kauderer is an associate professor of English at Hilbert College, and is the creator of hundreds of published poems. He is a produced screenwriter and a published photographer, and his graphic covers have introduced hundreds of issues of assorted newsletters. Herb has also published about 25 short stories in addition to engaging in other creative, less numeric, activities. As a poet he’s received the most acclaim, garnering three awards and eleven more nominations and honorable mentions. Beneath the Greasepaint demonstrates why.
