Many years ago we gave my parents a computer. When they asked, “What will we do with it?” we suggested that they write their life stories. This is Dad’s life story, in his own words.

I also remember my Uncle Frank on my mother’s side telling me of another of his brothers coming to this country years before. He lived in a room or apartment alone. Illumination was by gas. Before electricity, a gas pipe, the same kind of gas pipe used for cooking, would be installed on the wall of each room. There was a turn key to turn it on to be lit by a match. To turn it off, the turn key only had to be turned off. Not being familiar with this “new contraption” he simply blew out the flame and went to sleep. As expected, he passed away.
