Krishnamurti lived next to the Theosophical Society headquarters at Adyar in Madras in his early adolescence. At Adyar, he encountered prominent occultist and Theosophist Charles Webster Leadbeater. He was subsequently raised under the tutelage of Leadbeater and Annie Besant, leaders of the Theosophical Society at the time.At the Feet of the Master (1910). The author of this book may also be listed or co-listed (in different editions) as Alcyone, a pseudonym of Krishnamurti.
