The Three Dialogues and the Story of the Antichrist, finished on Easter Sunday 1900, is the final work of Solovyov. He clearly foresaw that the 20th century would be "the epoch of great wars, civil strife and revolutions." All this, he said, would prepare the way for the disappearance of "the old structure of separate nations" and "almost everywhere the remains of the ancient monarchical institutions would disappear." This would pave the way for a "United States of Europe."
The last days will reveal the Antichrist, who according to the philosopher, will be the most perfect of all human beings, ingenious, combining all possible artistic, political, moral, and religious gifts. Antichrist will look rather like godly person than an overt enemy of God...
Now, at the beginning of the third millennium, the accuracy of Solovyov's vision is more obvious, and more astonishing. That is the reason why contemporary Christian readers turn to the book in order to better understand the times in which they live.
