The seed for Analekta was planted in 2012. This volume represents the third harvest of material from writers throughout Oregon. The diverse styles, genres, and voices gathered herein made the rich bounty found on these pages possible. Much of the talent exhibited has been steeped in places found along “the road less traveled,” which fulfills one of the many purposes of this anthology: to give voice to those dreams that sprout in small towns and among country fields.
Open to every writer throughout Oregon, Analekta seeks to give attention to those who choose to work within the techniques and conventions of genre writing, creative nonfiction, and poetry. So, welcome to this issue with subject matter ranging from retro to futuristic, horrific to fantastical, lyrical to comical, and everything else in between!
