"My Name Is Ramona..." is the true story of Ramona Rich and her twenty-four hour misadventure.
On the morning of November 24, 2007, seventy-nine year old Ramona's life was about to change. Ramona decided to go windsurfing...alone. She is in good health, as well as an accomplished and skilled windsurfer. She has thirty years experience behind her.

Ramona is windsurfing on Conception Bay, on the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico. Conception Bay covers an area of over 100 square miles, and for the most part, is surrounded on three sides by uninhabited desert. Over two miles offshore, her mast broke, leaving her drifting at the mercy of the tides and wind.

Ramona spent the next several hours bouncing like a cork on the surface of Conception Bay, until sometime during the night, she finally beached on the "far side" of the bay. Ramona started walking, and ultimately walked seven and a half miles through desert, before collapsing from exhaustion.

No one was looking for her...

No one knew she was missing...
"My Name I Ramona...", and this is her story. I thank her for giving me the opportunity to tell it.
